Posted by biker in Mountain bikes

Mountain bikes are one of the most wonderful ways to get a good amount of exercise and to increase your appreciation of the natural world. There is an enormous amount of freedom that a mountain bike rider experiences when out and about on their mountain bikes. Most people use mountain bikes during the day for the very reason that they are able to visually appreciate the wonderful countryside that they are riding through at any given time.

Another method of riding mountain bikes is to take them out for a spin during the night. Experiencing mountain bikes and the riding of them during the darkness of night time makes for a very different experience and this is partly why it is becoming increasingly popular. Head torches have enabled many more people to safely ride mountain bikes when the sun has disappeared.

It makes good common sense to prepare a few things before setting off for a spot of riding mountain bikes in the dark. The equipment you carry with you will be similar to any other time of day, such as water, food and bike spares like inner tubes and a small tool-set. It’s best to also take a head mounted torch with batteries and some warm spare clothes as well.

Clothes that can keep you warm after daytime is really sensible at all times of the year. You shouldn’t rely purely on the fact it may be one of the warmer summer months for example. When the sun has set, air temperature can drop very significantly.

Torches that mount on the head are highly important and are essential for safe trail riding after dark. Many people do night riding well but all have one thing in common – they make sure that they have the right type of lighting. Riders of mountain bikes should already be aware that when out on their bikes that things can sometimes go wrong. It would be a terrible thing to be caught in a dire situation in which problems could not be found due to the lack of foresight and lack of essential basic equipment.
