Mountain bikes and racing bikes get all the glory and attention, but a classic road bike can provide years of enjoyment and be the kind of bike you really need.

Road bikes are typically the most well-rounded, as well as the least-expensive, of all of the different styles make for bicycling today.

If you haven’t considered road bikes, maybe you should put them on your list.

Mountain Biking Intro

Mountain biking can be a terrific path to get outside, get some great exercise and have some serious fun. Spending time on a mountain bike may be a top activity among some young people (both men and women), and is an excellent excuse to get outdoors and enjoy the scenery.

Now, plummeting down the side of a rough-terrain hill can be exciting, but it be treacherous, so you must wear a quality helmet and use some caution.

Most specialists agree that there are five broad categories of mountain bikes: street riding, cross country, downhill, freeride, downhill and dirt jump, but many of these particular bikes appear pretty similar. They feature a large, round frame tubing, chunky knobby tires, and shock absorbers or a suspension system to cushion the blows.
